The boot washer can be installed at floor level (fully recessed), partially recessed, or on top of the finished floor (see Accessories: Mounting frame for surface-mounted version).
There is no risk of accidents with ground-level installation, as the fully enclosed boot washer eliminates any tripping hazards. Stability during use is ensured by a stainless steel support bracket attached to the unit.
The boot washer ensures optimal cleaning of footwear with a stiff sole brush and two softer side brushes. An automatic water shut-off valve is mounted at the front of the basin and is activated by the tip of the foot. When the user presses the button with the tip of their shoe or boot, water flows to the spray nozzle strips for 15 seconds (factory setting).
Water is sprayed onto the bristles and footwear from all sides through small spray nozzles. When the foot, still in the shoe, is rubbed against the lower and side brushes, the dirt comes off effortlessly. A drain mounted beneath the basin—optionally equipped with a mud trap and odor trap (Version 3)—allows water to drain and prevents unpleasant odors from the drainage system. The foot valve has a flow duration that can be adjusted in steps of 7, 15, and 30 seconds. This allows for optimal water conservation.
The water connection must comply with the regulations of the responsible water utility. The European standard DIN EN 1717 serves as the guiding principle, supplemented by national standards. The drinking water installation must be performed exclusively by a licensed specialist contractor. When connecting to the drinking water system, a system separator or pipe separator approved by the building owner must be used (not included in the scope of delivery).
